The concept of immediate loading of dental implants placed in an edentulous law by means of a screw retained fixed denture is by now widely accepted and backed by successful 5-year survival data of implants and restorations. Nevertheless, it presents various challenges for the dentist, the technician and the patient. The benefits, limitations as well as future perspectives of this technique will be presented through clinical cases from the standpoint of a dental office without in-house laboratory.
