Computer Guided Implantology Seminar: from 2D to 3D

Guided implantology integrated the digital transition in dentistry in a very fast pace, Guided implantology provides accuracy, easiness of application, as well as predictability; thus being an indispensable instrument in contemporary clinical practice. The purpose of this session will be an analysis of computer guided implantology systems, as well as different fabrication procedures for corresponding appliances. Participants will experience principles and available software for computer guided implantology; they will be familiarized with 3D printing application and its adjunction with the implant planning software as well as with the restorations planning software.
Limitations, as well as problems during the implementation of this technology will be highlighted.
CBCT assisted digital reconstruction and subsequent 3D printing of anatomical structures (skulls, jaws) besides surgical guides will be analyzed. An implant case conducted with computer guided application and the corresponding surgical guide will be presented and thoroughly analyzed.
Course participants will be given the opportunity to perform implant placement on the 3D printed jaw, with the guidance of corresponding surgical guides.
