Preventive treatment concepts should be painless and minimally invasive. This presentation highlights scientific evidence and contemporary clinical protocols focusing on the intraoral applications of painless ultrasonic technology and air polishing. Air polishing is applied to effectively remove biofilm, improve oral hygiene and arrest periodontal destruction. Peri-implantitis pathogenesis and prevention protocols will be addressed. The significance of supportive periodontal therapy, as well as scientific evidence on the interaction between oral health and general health disorders will be discussed.
